How to block specific ports in Windows 7

Hello everyone, I have learnt from some Facebook status updates that there is some internet explorer related security threat on the loose. It has also endangered IM like Yahoo and Skype. In this wake Microsoft has recommended that TCP ports 139 and 445 be blocked. Here is how to accomplish this in Windows 7;

1. Go to Control Panel and open Windows Firewall.

2. Click on Advanced Settings in the left panel.

3. In the Advanced Settings panel, click on Inbound Rules in the left column.

4. In the Inbound Rules window, click on New Rule in the right column.

5. In the New Inbound Rule Wizard, select Port and click next.

6. In the next window, select the port type (TCP) and enter the port numbers separated by a coma and click Next.

7. In the next window, select Block the Connection and click next.

8. Select all the domains you want to apply this rule to and click next.

9. Enter the name and description of the rule and click Finish. You are done!
